Not much activity in here recently, but since the topic is here....

My husband and I just moved into the neighborhood last month. Yesterday, a plainclothes policeman stopped by to ask if we had heard gunfire the night before. Turns out, a conversation turned bad at 3 in the morning and someone was killed. We hadn't heard anything, but then last night at 11 or so, we heard noises that sounded like shots down toward Geneva.

Anyone else hear them?

Someone was shot and killed in front of the house next door to ours on Silver Ave. near Vienna last night. We could see the body of the young man from our window. I am feeling very unsafe at this time. Has anyone else experienced gun fire in our district?

My wife witnessed two woman (a mother and daughter) being shot and killed by the father of the daughter's child, about 8 years ago. She witnessed it from our back porch while on the phone with 911.

This was off on Grafton in the Ingleside. The neighborhood has gotten so much better. You need to contact the police once a week and tell them to patrol your area more. The will bow to pressure.

So sorry to hear about this.

Just read about it in the paper this morning. I'm very sorry it happened so close to your place. I never thought of that stretch of Silver as dangerous and I drive by it daily. This seems like an exception.
I've never experienced gun fire directly in the district. I've heard and seen kids fight (we have quite a few schools within a few blocks where we are) but never that violently.
Those incidents are still rare, are not directly targeted at us, and not random (the victim and the attacker usually know each other). Mostly they make me terribly sad for the families of the young people involved.
